Real Estate Specialist
As our Real Estate Specialist, you will assist with:
- Interviewing members to identify financial needs; advice on loan programs, rate options, and credit union policies.
- Receiving and reviewing complex applications, validating data points such as loan terms, tax data, PINs, and county-specific requirements.
- Preparing and delivering initial disclosures and borrower checklists in strict accordance with federal regulatory timelines (TRID).
- Verifying core underwriting components, including complex income (W-2s/Tax Returns), assets, credit history, and collateral.
- Coordinating the seamless transfer of files to third-party mortgage partners for processing and underwriting.
- Auditing title commitments, appraisals, and credit reports for discrepancies. Re-qualifying loans and calculating final debt-to-income and loan-to-value ratios to obtain final approval per ACU guidelines.
- Managing the closing calendar with all parties; preparing legal closing documents and ensuring the final file is complete and properly recorded.
- Traveling to branch locations as needed to facilitate in-person home equity loan closings.
- Processing and remitting payments for third-party invoices and provide backup support for loan servicing and mortgage payment reporting.
Requirements:
- 1–3 years of proven experience in processing, documenting, and closing real estate loans.
- Deep knowledge of TRID guidelines, real estate laws, and federal reporting requirements.
- Intermediate problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex loan files and resolve discrepancies independently.
- Strong interviewing and "soft skills" to discuss alternatives with members; excellent written and oral communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with modern Loan Origination Systems (LOS).
- Ability to perform with high accuracy under pressure with little to no supervision.
- Bilingual skills are highly valued and preferred.

M-F 9:00AM-5:30PM (occasionally 6PM)
Saturday (rotating schedule) 9:00AM-1:00PM
