Responsibilities
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and vehicle recovery towing equipment, to transport vehicles efficiently and securely.
- Perform basic vehicle troubleshooting, minor mechanical repairs, and automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle condition before towing.
- Follow cargo securement protocols meticulously to ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded safely onto tow trucks.
- Assist with vehicle loading onto tow trucks using manual techniques or forklift equipment when necessary.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns professionally.
- Conduct vehicle recovery operations at accident scenes or breakdown locations while adhering to safety standards.
- Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, vehicle conditions, and incident reports for record-keeping and compliance purposes.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving preferred.
- Proven experience in automotive repair, minor mechanical work, or automotive diagnostics.
- Knowledge of cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading techniques on tow trucks.
- Ability to operate flatbed tow trucks and other specialized towing equipment confidently.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle mechanics for truck drivers or similar roles.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Physical ability to load/unload vehicles manually or using forklift equipment; comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and basic vehicle troubleshooting procedures is highly desirable.
