Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk
Role Summary
We are hiring a Bookkeeper / Accounting Clerk to support transactional accounting across multiple entities. This role is focused on data entry, expense coding, and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations. The position operates under the direction of an Accounting Manager and finance leadership and does not involve tax work, audits, or external CPA interaction.
Core Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Bookkeeping
- Enter vendor bills, checks, and electronic payments
- Code expenses accurately to general ledger
- Enter and organize credit card transactions and receipts
- Maintain clean and organized QuickBooks Online files
Reconciliations
- Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements monthly
- Identify discrepancies and escalate issues for review
- Maintain supportable reconciliation schedules
Accounts Payable Support
- Prepare payment batches for approval
- Track vendor balances and due dates
- Assist with vendor setup and maintenance
General Support
- Support the Accounting Manager with routine accounting tasks
- Maintain orderly digital filing and documentation
- Follow established accounting procedures and internal controls
- Assist with cleanup projects and backlog work as needed
Qualifications
- 1-4 years of bookkeeping, accounting clerk, or AP experience
- Comfortable with repetitive, detail-oriented work
- Strong attention to accuracy and organization
- Ability to follow defined process consistently
- Dependable, responsive, and deadline-oriented
