- Mail Collection & Delivery: Drive a designated route to pick up and deliver inter-school mail, bank deposits, U.S. Postal Service mail, and small packages to all district sites according to a daily schedule.
- Sorting & Processing: Sort incoming mail by department, building, or individual; process outgoing mail by weighing items and affixing correct postage using electronic metering machines.
- Confidential Handling: Securely transport sensitive items, including bank deposit bags, student records, payroll checks, and legal documents, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
- Equipment Operation: Operate mailroom technology, including digital postage scales. .
- Errand & Supply Support: Deliver supplies, instructional materials, or emergency items between buildings.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Driver's License: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Background Checks: Must pass all mandated clearances/trainings (ACT 34 PA State Police Criminal History, ACT 151 Child Abuse Clearance, ACT 114 FBI Fingerprinting, ACT 126 Mandated Reporter and ACT 71 Suicide Prevention).
- Skills: Basic computer literacy and strong organizational skills.

Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Director of Buildings and Grounds, the Mailperson is responsible for the timely collection, sorting, and delivery of internal and external mail, packages, and supplies between the District Office, individual school buildings, local bank and the U.S. Post Office. This role ensures that communication remains fluid across the district while adhering to safety and confidentiality standards.
