Position Overview
Our Day Services program is community-based, and your time will be split between planning and directly supporting individuals participating in local activities, events, volunteer opportunities, and skill-building experiences throughout the Columbus area.
Schedule:
Full-time
Monday–Friday, 1st shift
What You’ll Do
- Lead Engaging Experiences: Design and facilitate recreational, educational, and community-based activities that bring structure, fun, and purpose. Monitor and adjust activities to match interests and needs, and continuously improve the experience.
- Create Connection: Build and maintain positive relationships with local organizations.
- Turn Goals Into Real-Life Skills: Align activities with service goals while promoting physical activity, creativity, communication, and social development.
- Bring Ideas to Life: Develop monthly activity calendars, coordinate transportation and supplies, and collaborate with housing teams to keep programming fresh and exciting.
- Be Part of the Daily Experience: Provide 15-20 hours of direct support weekly while building strong, positive relationships and experiences.
- Advocate for Inclusion: Champion individual rights, choices, and opportunities at every turn.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred, or 3 to 5 years of experience in leadership, recreation, education, or human services.
- Passion for Inclusion: A genuine desire to support individuals with disabilities.
- Skills: Able to plan engaging experiences and think outside the box, clear verbal and written communication skills, take initiative, follow through, and stay organized.
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience: Helpful, but enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to inclusion matter most.
