What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Psychologist position at Ability Builders for Children?
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of children suspected of having autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Utilize standardized assessment tools, including but not limited to CARS-2 and ADOS, to diagnose ASD.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive evaluation reports.
- Provide support and guidance to families throughout the evaluation process.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of assessments, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations.
- Stay current with research and best practices related to ASD assessment and intervention.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Child Psychologist (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) with current NYS licensure.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with children and families, preferably in an early intervention or clinical setting.
- Demonstrated experience with standardized diagnostic tools such as CARS-2 and/or ADOS.
- Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder and evidence-based practices for assessment and intervention.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities a plus.
- Can work in any or all 5 boroughs (Bronx, Queens, Manhattan, Staten Island and Brooklyn), including Westchester, Suffolk, Nassau, Rockland, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange, Monroe, Chenango, Columbia, Delaware, Otsego, Steuben, Tompkins counties.
- Should be US citizen or legally authorized to work in the US.
Salary : $150 - $200
