Position: Pediatric Physical Therapist Consultant

Job Summary: As a Pediatric Physical Therapist at The Therapy Center at Abilis, you will play a critical role in helping children of all ages develop essential functional motor and gross motor skills. You will work closely with families to evaluate children, then develop and implement therapy plans that promote growth and development in the children we serve. This role offers the opportunity to work in our brand-new therapy gym located at 78 Harvard Avenue!
Responsibilities:
· Conduct comprehensive physical therapy assessments for children to identify functional and gross motor delays.
· Utilize a variety of testing tools and methods to accurately evaluate each child's needs within the pediatric population.
· Provide hands-on physical therapy services within our clinic while fostering a supportive environment for children and their families.
· Develop creative, effective, and individualized strategies to promote functional and gross motor skill development.
· Collaborate with families to develop, implement and revise goals and objectives that focus on enhancing the child’s gross motor abilities.
· Engage in ongoing communication with caregivers and other professionals to ensure cohesive and coordinated care.
· Maintain detailed and accurate records, including daily notes, progress updates, and other required documentation to be in compliance with insurance, state and federal regulations.
· Ensure that all documentation is completed in a timely manner and reflects the child’s progress and any adjustments to the therapy plan.
· Stay current with best practices in pediatric physical therapy through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:· Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy program with the corresponding PT, MPT, or DPT degree.
· Current Connecticut Department of Public Health License as a Physical Therapist is required.
