Job Summary: The Food Service Staff member delivers excellent customer service in a fast-paced café environment while preparing and serving food and beverages. This per diem, part-time role includes operating the point-of-sale system, maintaining inventory, and ensuring food safety and cleanliness standards are met. The position requires clear communication with team members and the Café Shift Manager, along with the ability to receive customer feedback and contribute ideas for menu improvements. Successful candidates are team-oriented, well-organized, and committed to creating a positive experience for every café customer.
Responsibilities:

Welcome customers, answer questions, promote specials, and process orders and payments.

Operate the Point-of-Sale system accurately and communicate issues promptly.

Prepare and serve food and beverages, including sandwiches, baked goods, coffee, and tea.

Package food and beverages and assist team members to complete tasks efficiently.

Maintain cleanliness by sanitizing equipment, utensils, and work and dining areas.

Receive, verify, and track café supply deliveries and communicate restocking needs.

Monitor inventory and replenish items in display cases and service areas.

Update signage and displays to attract customers.

Adhere to all food safety regulations and quality standards.

Communicate customer and team feedback to the Café Shift Manager and suggest menu improvements.

Minimum 16 years of age

ServSafe Food Handler certification

CPR/First Aid certification

Strong organizational, time management, and customer service skills

Ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods

Flexible availability, including nights, mornings, weekends, and holidays
