Primary Purpose:
Support the principal in leading a high-performing campus focused on student achievement, strong culture, and efficient operations. The assistant principal plays a key role in student discipline, attendance, instructional support, and day-to-day campus management.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s degree
- Valid Texas Principal Certification
Experience:
- Minimum three years of successful teaching experience
- Leadership experience preferred
Skills:
- Strong organization and follow-through
- Clear, direct communication
- Ability to build relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Knowledge of instruction, data, and classroom management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
Student Management & Campus Culture:
- Lead student discipline with consistency and fairness
- Implement and uphold the Student Code of Conduct
- Support attendance systems, interventions, and communication with families
- Be highly visible throughout the day and at campus events
Instructional Support:
- Conduct walkthroughs and support the T-TESS process
- Provide coaching and feedback to teachers
- Support PLCs and data-driven instruction
- Reinforce high expectations for teaching and learning
Campus Operations:
- Assist with master schedule and daily operations
- Help coordinate state testing and campus systems
- Supervise arrival, dismissal, and transitions
- Serve as administrator on duty for extracurricular events
Staff Support:
- Build strong relationships with staff
- Support professional growth and accountability
- Assist with hiring and onboarding
Communication & Systems:
- Communicate clearly with parents, staff, and students
- Support campus communication (newsletters, updates, etc.)
- Maintain accurate documentation for discipline, attendance, and 504 processes
Other Duties:
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist in the supervision and evaluation of staff
Working Conditions:
- Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions
- Extended hours, including evenings and events
- Frequent walking and standing
Evaluation:
Evaluated in accordance with district administrative appraisal system (T-PESS)
Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
