Requirements
Position Summary: The Quality Technician assists the Quality team with implementation of company-wide operations procedures and process to support the overall Quality Assurance plan. This role support Quality improvement throughout the shop floor and within the team concept. Participate as cross-functional team member within assigned goal-oriented team responsibility.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection of incoming materials & components, ABEC manufactured items, and assembled systems in order to ensure conformance to established quality standards and all related quality documentation requirements.
- Conduct in-process inspections and prepare reporting documents as required during manufacturing.
- Conduct “Walk Downs” of systems using the Job Data file to ensure completeness and accuracy of data.
- Involvement as requested during Pre-FAT activities.
- Final Inspection of Vessel & Systems for approval of packaging/crating of equipment.
- Conduct various administrative functions as required in support of Quality Department activities.
- Assist in controlling & maintaining test equipment and calibration of test equipment within ABEC.
- Filing of project-related and Quality Department documentation.
- Assist in the auditing of project Turnover Packages (TOPs).
- Interaction with customers and vendors as needed.
- Physical inspection of manufactured parts to verify conformance to design drawings and related specifications (material, dimensional, surface finish, etc.).
- Ensure accurate and complete receipt of all required quality-related documentation.
- Travel to other ABEC facilities, vendor locations or customer sites as required to support Quality Department activities.
- Follow all safety rules and policies.
- Execute other tasks as assigned.
- Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma minimum, Associate Degree in a technical field preferred.
- 3 years post graduate work in a related field or function.
- Certified Quality Inspector, (CQI) / Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred but not mandatory.
- Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus.
- Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus.
- Necessary to be able to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Travel may be required.
