Position Summary:
The Quality Systems Technician assists the Quality team with implementation of company-wide operations procedures and process to support the overall Quality Assurance plan. This role support Quality improvement throughout the shop floor and within the team concept. Participate as cross-functional team member within assigned goal-oriented team responsibility.
Shift: Monday – Friday / Night Shift 3:15 pm - 11:45 pm
Responsibilities:
- Inspection of incoming materials & components, ABEC manufactured items, and assembled systems in order to ensure conformance to established quality standards and all related quality documentation requirements
- Conduct in-process inspections and prepare reporting documents as required during manufacturing
- Conduct “Walk Downs” of systems using the Job Data file to ensure completeness and accuracy of data
- Involvement as requested during Pre-FAT activities
- Final Inspection of Vessel & Systems for approval of packaging/crating of equipment
- Conduct various administrative functions as required in support of Quality Department activities
- Assist in controlling & maintaining test equipment and calibration of test equipment within ABEC
- Filing of project-related and Quality Department documentation
- Assist in the auditing of project Turnover Packages (TOPs)
- Interaction with customers and vendors as needed
- Inspection of incoming materials & components, ABEC manufactured items, and assembled systems in order to ensure conformance to established quality standards and all related quality documentation requirements
- Physical inspection of manufactured parts to verify conformance to design drawings and related specifications (material, dimensional, surface finish, etc.)
- Ensure accurate and complete receipt of all required quality-related documentation
- Travel to other ABEC facilities, vendor locations or customer sites as required to support Quality Department activities
- Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity
- Follow all safety rules and policies
- Execute other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- HS Diploma minimum
- Certified Quality Inspector, (CQI) / Certified Quality Technician (CQT) preferred but not mandatory
- Awareness of and prior experience with implementing Continuous Improvement (CI) a plus
- Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
