Position Summary:
The DC Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the manufacturing team involved in the production of bioprocessing equipment. This role includes managing personnel, monitoring equipment, and ensuring that manufacturing processes meet established performance, quality, and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the manufacturing team to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
- Have ownership of the Problem Log and report all quality issues including but not limited to down, poor workmanship, out of spec material, first pass yield and lack of adherence to cycle time
- Monitor and evaluate equipment and process performance to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with production schedules, quality requirements, and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and quality departments to resolve production issues.
- Maintain accurate records of production output and equipment performance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste.
- Train, mentor, and support team members to uphold manufacturing best practices.
- Report on key production metrics and contribute to performance reviews and operational planning.
- Maintain documents in ABEC archives
- Support and maintain ABEC Key Initiatives and Core Values.
- Execute other tasks as assigned
- Ability to travel when required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of supervisory experience in a clean room manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Experience with capacity planning (workforce and equipment).
- Proven ability to train and motivate employees to improve product quality, meet KPIs, and support plant profitability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.
- Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as required.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement (CI) experience is a plus.
