• Evaluate coverage issues and litigate insurance disputes under a variety of insurance products.

• Client is seeking attorneys who were admitted to practice law beginning in 2022 and earlier with a minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance coverage litigation to join our robust insurance coverage practice group in Chicago.
• The practice group represents both domestic and international insurers in complex, high-profile coverage litigation and bad faith cases, who issued primary, excess, and reinsurance policies to large multi-national companies, public and private entities, municipalities, and school districts.
• Attorneys with complex commercial litigation experience who are interested in focusing on insurance coverage work are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities and Requirements

• Analyze insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide coverage advice and recommendations.
• Handle all phases of insurance coverage litigation.
• Attend depositions and court appearances, hearings, and mediations as required.
• Draft and review pleadings, memos, briefs, discovery, motions, and other legal documents.
• Assist with pre-trial work and trial preparation.
• Conduct complex and comprehensive legal research, and draft memoranda.
• Work closely with other attorneys, team members, and partners on legal projects.
• Communicate with clients.
• Represent clients in court and/or before government agencies.
• Negotiate settlements of legal disputes.

Education and Experience

• Admitted to practice in Illinois in 2022 or earlier.
• JD from an accredited law school.
• 2 to 6 years’ experience in insurance coverage litigation, experience representing insurers is a plus.
• Familiarity with commercial general liability insurance policies.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

The salary range for this position is $155,000 - $175,000 annually, with additional quarterly bonuses for meeting billable hour requirements (up to $10,000 per year) and the potential for hours and/or merit-based annual bonuses.
