Job Description:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused medical receptionist to join our pediatric practice. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a passion for working with children, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced medical office setting.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting and checking in patients and families in a friendly and professional manner
- Assist with patient check-out, provide instructions, and schedule follow-up visits
- Schedule appointments and manage patient appointments using the office scheduling system
- Verify patient information, including insurance details and medical history
- Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members
- Process patient co-pays, payments, and billing inquiries
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow
- Manage office supplies and assist with office organization as needed
- Ensure a clean, welcoming, and safe environment for patients and families
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a medical office or receptionist role, preferably in pediatrics or healthcare
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of insurance verification and medical office procedures is a plus
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic office software (Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Compassionate and patient-friendly, with a positive attitude
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals
