What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool/Pre-K Teacher-Redmond position at ABC Learning Center?
We are looking for a Child Care Teacher to encourage the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our facilities. You will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination.
Responsibilities
- Design and follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material using the Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum: Preschool investigations and emergent self-determined plans based on the interests and needs of the current group
- Balance your teaching between logical and social exercises
- Provide basic care and caregiving activities
- Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the child’s abilities
- Evaluate children’s performance using Teaching Strategies GOLD assessments to make sure they are on the right learning track
- Remain in constant communication with parents and update them on the progress of their children both verbally and using Procare Parent Engagement Apl
- Observe children’s interactions and promote the spirit of concord and sense of community
- Identify behavioral problems and work with behavioral specialist and center director to determine the right course of action
- Collaborate with other colleagues
- Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources and state licensing codes
Requirements
- Proven experience as a child care / daycare teacher
- Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
- Methodical and creative
- Patience, flexibility and love for children
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Have or willing to finish the early childhood education requirements such as first aid and CPR, background check, Food Handler‘s Permit, bloodborne pathogens training, and short certificate in ECE or PACE alternative
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
