We specialize in commercial and industrial fire protection systems and take pride in doing things the right way. We're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Shop Tech to join our growing team.
Position Summary:
This role is based at our Ross Twp facility and focuses on the inspection, maintenance, testing, and recharging of all types of portable fire extinguishers, including CO2 and clean agent units. You'll also perform low-pressure hydrostatic testing and assist with shop inventory and equipment prep for our field crews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, service, repair, and recharge portable fire extinguishers (dry chemical, CO2, water, foam, halogenated, etc.)
- Perform low-pressure hydrostatic testing in compliance with DOT and NFPA 10 standards
- Document all work accurately using tags, labels, and service logs
- Prepare extinguishers and equipment for field technicians
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
- Assist with inventory and ordering of parts and supplies
- Follow all company safety protocols and quality standards
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
- Prior fire extinguisher experience a plus—but we're willing to train the right candidate
- Knowledge of NFPA 10 and DOT testing procedures is a bonus
- Valid driver's license preferred
