What are the responsibilities and job description for the Territory Representative position at Abby Care?
About Abby Care
Making family care possible. At Abby Care, we are tackling one of the most important and unsolved challenges of our time: family caregiving. Over 50 million Americans are family caregivers for loved ones without pay, tools, or support. Our mission is clear and ambitious: to train and employ family caregivers so they can get paid for the care they already provide at home.
Abby Care is building a tech-powered, family-first care platform to efficiently deliver care, improve health outcomes, and provide the best-in-class experience nationwide. We are rapidly expanding our mission and looking for passionate team members to join. Abby Care has partnered with leading insurance plans, healthcare providers, and community organizations. We’re supported by top, mission-driven VCs to empower families throughout the country.
The Role
We are looking for a builder with a true hunter mentality. This is a ground-floor opportunity to own the Harrisburg market, navigate a complex healthcare landscape, and install our care model as the gold standard for families in need.
We don't care if your background is in medical sales, high-volume BDR work, or if you’re a former clinician looking to transition into a high-stakes business role. What we do care about is grit, self-discipline, and the ability to simplify complexity. If you are a relentless problem-solver who isn't afraid to knock on doors and build a territory from scratch, we want to talk to you.
Key Responsibilities
Your mission is to make Abby Care the default referral protocol for healthcare providers. You will own the full lifecycle of territory growth:
- New Partner Acquisition: Identify and engage Case Management Agencies, Physicians, and Therapy Clinics. You’ll be responsible for the full hunt from first contact to signed partnership
- Navigate Complexity: Every state, clinic, and provider has different workflows. You will master these nuances to ensure our families get the care they need without bureaucratic delays
- Build the Playbook: Because this is a growth territory, you will help us refine the strategy. You aren’t just following a map; you’re helping us draw it
- Operational Excellence: You treat your territory like a business. This means pristine Salesforce hygiene, accurate forecasting, and a data-driven approach to your daily outreach
Who you are
We are intentionally looking for a diverse range of professional backgrounds. You will be a great fit if you possess:
- Hunter Mentality: You have 3–5 years of experience in a closing role (Sales, Recruiting, Business Development, etc.) where you were responsible for hitting a number
- Intellectual Curiosity: Healthcare is complex (prior auths, acuity, ADLs). You don't need to know these terms on Day 1, but you must have the capacity to learn them quickly and speak the language of a clinician with confidence
- Operational Rigor: You understand that "if it isn’t in the CRM, it didn't happen." You have a disciplined daily cadence and a high degree of self-accountability
- Resilience: You are energized by the word "No." You understand that building a new market requires high activity and persistent follow-up
- Local Roots: You currently reside in the Harrisburg area and are ready to be in the field daily
Goals (What Wins The Job)
These directly tie to quota and variable comp.
- Qualified Leads
- Net new activated providers
- FSAs Signed
- Monthly quota attainment (% to plan)
The Requirements
- Must currently reside in Greater Harrisburg Area
- Valid Driver's License
- 3 Years of Experience: Proven track record in a high-activity sales or business development role
- Experience navigating complex, multi-stakeholder environments
- A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
- This role will require travel between provider office locations and meetings. Requires ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with occasional extended hours
Our Values
- Families First Redefining healthcare starts with how we treat the parents and children we serve. We go above and beyond for every family, building strong, lasting relationships. We continually ask ourselves, “Would we want this for our own families?”
- Urgency with Precision Millions of families are waiting for care, and they cannot wait, therefore this is not your typical 9 to 5 job. We match their urgency with our own, delivering exceptional care without compromise. Here, speed and excellence go hand in hand
- Relentlessly Resourceful As an ambitious startup, we adapt quickly and make the most of limited time and resources. We solve challenges with creativity to deliver results without unnecessary complexity
- Purpose with Positivity We take our mission seriously while never losing sight of the people behind the work. Respect, kindness, memes, and coffee make us stronger as a team and better for the families we serve
- Driven to Redefine What’s Possible We are here to make healthcare better, which means asking hard questions, challenging outdated systems, and finding smarter, more compassionate ways to deliver care
Benefits
- Comprehensive health coverage that works for you. We cover 90% of your premiums and 70% for your dependents, with multiple PPO plan options to choose from for medical, vision, dental, life, and short-term disability

- Team bonding. We love bringing our teams together. As a full-time employee, you’ll get to connect, collaborate, and have fun through team activities and our annual company retreat
- Financial savings benefits to support your future. We support your financial well-being with HSA contributions, optional FSA and commuter benefits, and full coverage of all 401(k) account fees (employer match not currently offered)
- Paid parental leave to support your growing family. We provide paid leave, so you can focus on bonding and adjusting to life as your family grows
