What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Clerk position at Abbeville Fiber?
Abbeville Fiber is seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay and full benefit package.
Summary: Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
· Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
· Responsible for placing identifying information on material upon arrival at the plant site.
· Routes items to inventory.
· Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
· Maintains traffic flow through the yard and assists in staging shipments for outbound loads.
· Assists in stacking lumber or moving products by hand as needed.
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or GED preferred
· Six months of related experience
· Lumber experience is a plus!
