Role Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all project management aspects of new customer implementations for our radiology workflow solutions. Working closely with clients and coordinating between internal teams—including the Solutions Delivery team (workflow assessment and application build), Technical Implementation team (interfaces and data migration), and Training team—you will ensure successful project execution. The primary focus will be on project planning, resource coordination, timeline management, client communication, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Coordination
- Project Management: Take full responsibility for all project management tasks, including project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and timeline management. Develop detailed project plans, track progress against milestones, and ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate between the Solutions Delivery team (led by Manager of Solutions Delivery), Technical Implementation team, and Training team to ensure seamless project execution and alignment of all implementation activities.
- Resource Management: Work with department managers to allocate appropriate resources across workflow assessment, application build, technical integration, training, and other project activities.
Client Management & Communication
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the implementation process. Communicate effectively with clients, addressing their concerns, providing project updates, and managing expectations.
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Client Requirements: Collaborate with clients to understand their unique needs and ensure that the Solutions Delivery team and Technical Implementation team have clear requirements to configure AbbaDox solutions accordingly, while remaining within the contracted scope.
Quality Assurance & Project Delivery
- Quality Assurance: Ensure successful deployment of AbbaDox solutions by coordinating thorough testing and quality assurance processes across all teams. Validate that implemented systems meet client requirements and are fully functional.
- Go-Live Management: Coordinate go-live activities across workflow, technical, and training teams, ensuring all components are ready and that the transition to production is smooth.
- Issue Resolution: Serve as the escalation point for project-related issues, coordinating with appropriate teams to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
Scope & Budget Management
- Scope Management: Monitor project scope throughout implementation, identifying and addressing scope creep proactively. Communicate scope concerns to clients and leadership as needed.
- Budget Tracking: Track project budgets and professional service hours, ensuring financial targets are met and providing regular reporting to leadership.
Process Improvement & Collaboration
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Solutions Delivery, Technical Implementation, Training, Product, and Development teams to share client feedback, technical requirements, and suggestions for product enhancements.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Director of Implementation to identify areas of improvement in the existing implementation process. Contribute to the development and implementation of process enhancements to streamline workflows and improve project efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, meeting notes, and lessons learned.
Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Project management certification is strongly preferred (CAPM, PMP, Agile certifications).
- Proven experience (at least 2-3 years) in project management for healthcare IT implementations, preferably with radiology workflow systems.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing complex technical projects.
Technical Skills
- Strong technical background with knowledge of medical imaging, RIS, PACS, and Patient Engagement systems.
- Understanding of radiology workflows, system integrations, and implementation processes.
- Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, hybrid approaches).
- Experience with resource planning, timeline management, and budget tracking.
