Our client is a global bank. They seek a Director, Financial Control (Banking) to join their Jersey City, NJ office.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the U.S. Controller to support strategic initiatives, governance activities, and key business objectives
- Coordinate accounting, reporting, and controllership activities across U.S. banking entities and head office stakeholders
- Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
- Direct the preparation of financial statements, disclosures, and regulatory reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and IFRS
- Manage internal and external audit relationships, including audit planning, execution, and issue remediation
- Safeguard the integrity of financial records, internal controls, and compliance frameworks across the organization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on complex transactions, new products, and strategic business initiatives
- Champion finance transformation efforts involving automation, ERP enhancements, analytics, and AI-driven process improvements
- Cultivate high-performing teams through coaching, succession planning, performance management, and employee development
- Promote a culture of innovation, inclusion, accountability, and continuous improvement while supporting organizational change initiatives
Requirements
- 8 years of relevant experience
- Big 4 or combo experience
- Banking industry required
- Experience with consolidations, financial statement preparation, and monthly product accounting
- Excellent communication skills
