IN PERSON POSITION.
We are looking for an experienced Medical Billing and A/R Specialist to join our ABA Interventions Team! The Billing Specialist will complete the daily billing of therapy appointments and assist with Accounts Receivable. This position is an integral part of the Office Team at ABA Interventions. You must be able to work collaboratively while having fun and being committed to our organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Submit and manage insurance claims for ABA services.
- Review and verify billing accuracy prior to claim submission.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
- Research and resolve billing discrepancies and insurance denials.
- Post payments, adjustments, and refunds accurately.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits as needed.
- Maintain client accounts and billing records in electronic systems.
- Collaborate with clinical staff regarding authorizations, service documentation, and payer requirements.
- Communicate professionally with insurance companies, families, and internal team members.
- Generate billing reports and assist with revenue cycle tracking.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, payer guidelines, and company policies.

Skills
- Professional phone etiquette
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of medical billing experience preferred.
- Experience with insurance claims, denials management, and payment posting.
- Knowledge of commercial insurance, Medicaid/TennCare, and healthcare billing practices preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and billing software systems.
- Experience in ABA, behavioral health, or pediatric healthcare is a plus.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of medical or healthcare office experience required.
- 2 years of medical billing experience required.
- Associate degree or vocational school training preferred.
- Central Reach software experience preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
