Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing or a baccalaureate degree in an allied field
- Illinois RN license
- Current standard first aid card and CPR card
- At least 1 year of prior professional nursing experience, preferably in school nursing
- Contract through the 2025/2026 school year – 30 to 40 hours per week
- Contract follows the academic district calendar
- Provide direct nursing care to students and staff members as needed.
- Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify health concerns and provide appropriate interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with chronic illnesses or special health needs.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records for all students.
- Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics, including illness prevention, nutrition, and hygiene.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to address health concerns and promote a healthy school environment.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and serve as a resource for school health policies and procedures.
- Stay up to date on current nursing practices, regulations, and guidelines related to school health services.
- $1,680-$1,800 per week
