Position Objective:
- Provide strategic leadership for all Safety, Health and Environmental programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with AB Mauri corporate objectives and full compliance with governmental regulations; develop, implement, and continuously improve a robust safety-focused culture; oversee safety, health and environmental risk management and mitigation strategies; and champion a culture of engagement, accountability, and sustainability consistent with AB Mauri's values across the plant.
Performance Standards

- Develop, implement, and monitor all AB Mauri Health & Safety programs, ensuring compliance and best practice.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies and external auditors for all S&H matters.
- Chair the plant Safety Committee, setting strategic direction and driving continuous improvement (Target Zero initiatives).
- Lead the development and execution of the Behavior Based Safety Program.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of site Risk Assessments, ensuring all employees have the necessary equipment and training.
- Direct all incident investigations, ensuring root cause analysis and effective corrective actions.
- Manage S&H audits and associated findings, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Oversee the development and delivery of all regulatory and internal training programs.
- Maintain oversight of all S&H documentation, including training records, incident reports, and KPI databases.
- Advise on S&H aspects of site projects, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated through effective management of change.
- Conduct regular inspections of operations and facilities, ensuring hazards are identified and addressed.
- Oversee the Contractor Safety Program, ensuring compliance and safe practices.
- Lead the development and implementation of all environmental programs, ensuring compliance with company standards and governmental regulations.
- Lead and oversee the management of site waste, wastewater, and air permit (Title V) compliance, ensuring all activities adhere to relevant environmental regulations and company standards. Responsibilities include monitoring disposal processes, maintaining accurate records, coordinating with regulatory agencies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to minimize environmental impact.
- Lead and oversee the implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) systems to ensure compliance with environmental protection standards, proactively identifying and mitigating risks to prevent accidental releases, minimize environmental impact while supporting sustainable and continuous improvement activities.
- Oversee the completion and submission of all environmental reports, permits, and authorizations.
- Ensure timely and accurate governmental and company environmental /Green House Gas reporting and environmental incident documentation.
- Champion 6s initiatives in the facility by providing training, coaching and guidance to each department.
- Lead Sustainability initiatives to minimize our waste footprint which include physical and environmental.
- Develop and manage the SH&E budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
- Lead, coach, and develop the site SH&E team, fostering professional growth and high performance.
- Set and monitor departmental goals, KPIs, and performance standards.
- Regularly communicate SH&E objectives, progress, and results to senior management and plant staff.
- Represent the plant in corporate SH&E forums and initiatives.
- Comply with all HR policies and procedures.
- Comply with relevant employment laws.
- Ensure payroll is accurate and approved for hourly employees.
- Lead or facilitate the MBU team meetings and root cause analysis.
- Focus on continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ongoing development/training as required.
A COMBINATION OF THE LISTED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE ARE PREFERRED
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health & safety, environmental science, engineering, or related field (master's preferred).
- Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in SH&E Management within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulation including EPA's Title V Clean Air Act and EPA's Process Safety Management (PSM), and other relevant regulations.
- Experience with worker’s compensation and incident management.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Team spirited, dynamic, innovative, results-oriented and autonomous
- Experience in Food industry
- Experience in developing train the trainer programs
- Ability to develop and implement classroom training programs for employees
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Good organizational and multitasking skills
- Confidentiality a must
- Knowledge of candidate tracking systems a plus
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and listen at the same time within a noisy manufacturing environment.

- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and /or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The ability to perform in a noisy, humid, hot, cold and high-volume machine production environment.
- The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
- Visual depth perception and the ability to adjust focus is required.
- Must be on call 24 hours for any environment health and safety incidence.
- Occasional travel may be required up to 20%.
