Overview
Ongoing locum opportunity to work in a high-volume, high-acuity Emergency Department within a large, well-supported health system. Multiple shift options and credentialing across the main ED and five affiliated FSEDs.
Department and Facility
- Main ED annual volume: 120,000 visits
- 45-bed ED: 29 adult beds, 8 pediatric beds, 8 fast-track beds
- 5 affiliated FSEDs (lower volumes) included in credentialing
- Hospital: 438-bed acute care tertiary teaching hospital
- Services: Level III NICU, Pediatric ER & PICU, Heart & Vascular Center, Behavioral Health, Advanced Stroke & Chest Pain Center, comprehensive specialty support
- Established Emergency Medicine residency program
Coverage and Operations
- Main ED physician coverage: 88 hours/day
- Pediatric ED coverage: 24 hours/day (dedicated pediatric EM physicians cover ~20% pediatric volume)
- APP coverage: 59 hours/day
- Physicians do not write admitting orders or respond to floor codes
- Strong operational, specialty, and pediatric backup

- 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- 12:00 PM – 2:00 AM
- 5:00 PM – 5:00 AM
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM

Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
- Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain
- DEA registration
- ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications
