What are the responsibilities and job description for the Locum Tenens Emergency Medicine Physician — Inverness, FL position at AAS Healthcare Staffing?
We’re looking for a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physician to cover a locum tenens role in Inverness, Florida. You’ll join a recently renovated, well-supported emergency department that handles a high-acuity adult population in a modern, efficient space.
What the shift looks like
- Annual ED volume: about 45,000 visits
- Physician coverage: 36 hours per day
- APP coverage: 40 hours per day
- Bed configuration: 28 private rooms, including bariatric-capable rooms
- EMR: Cerner
Patient mix and services
- Predominantly adult and geriatric patients
- Low pediatric volume (roughly 6%)
- No trauma designation and no OB/GYN services
- Designated Stroke Center with tele-neurology being implemented
- Ready access to advanced imaging and specialty support
- Strong hospitalist team to assist with admissions and inpatient care
What we’re looking for
- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
- Active Florida medical license or ability to obtain one
- DEA license
- Comfortable managing a broad range of emergency presentations in a busy, non-trauma ED
- Experience in high-volume emergency departments is preferred
