Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer / Geologist to join our team in Charlotte, NC. Duties
- Manage and execute geotechnical investigations, including:
- Occasional travel for overnight projects throughout North & South Carolina
- Boring layouts, utility clearing, and drill rig supervision
- Performing soil borings, geophysical surveys, and preparing geotechnical reports
- Classifying soils, coordinating lab testing, and presenting findings
- Perform field and laboratory testing on construction materials (e.g., soils, concrete, asphalt)
- Assist senior staff with client interactions, proposal preparation, and project budgets
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Technology, or Geology
- Travel: Flexibility to travel for field projects (overnight stays as needed)
- Certifications: Ability to obtain Engineering Intern (EI) or Geologist-in-Training (GIT) certification
- Experience: Prior experience in geotechnical engineering or related field preferred, but not required
- Skills: Strong multitasking and organizational abilities; Excellent communication skills
