NV5 is seeking an Geotechnical Engineer for our Charlotte, NC location.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the geotechnical engineering team, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of geotechnical investigations and analyses.
- Develop and review geotechnical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to assess soil and rock conditions.
- Utilize advanced geotechnical software for modeling and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Participate in business development activities, including client meetings and proposal preparation.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering and incorporate them into practice.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field (master’s or Ph.D. preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required. (or ability to become registered in North Carolina within 3 months of hire).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles, soil mechanics, and foundation design.
- Demonstrated above-average technical capabilities and working knowledge of basic geotechnical software (LPILE, FB-DEEP, SPW911, SETTL3D, SLOPE/W etc). Geotechnical numerical modeling skills a definite plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Experience with business development and client relationship management is a plus.
