Aardvark Communications & Security is immediately seeking a Low Voltage Technician to join our team! The technician performs installations of technical hardware for both commercial and residential customers.
Summary
Project implementation and training of low voltage networks, telecommunication systems to include VOIP and Hybrid applications, security system installations to include access control systems, intrusion alarms in residential and commercial settings, CCTV systems in residential and commercial settings. Install low voltage networks and optical fiber.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Read blue prints, programming documentation and wiring diagrams.
- Terminate and understand wiring codes for copper cable including cat3, cat5e, cat6, cat6a cabling and fiber optics.
- Troubleshoot low voltage wiring issues and correct them accordingly while in the field.
- Basic programming on telecommunication equipment and alarm system equipment including intrusion alarm equipment, CCTV equipment, Access control equipment and life safety equipment
- Perform technical tasks with little training and direction
- Complete installations within allotted time
Qualifications
- Preferred candidate has a minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications and/or security field experience.
- Must have willingness to learn networking, telephone systems, intrusion alarm systems, access control, cameras and fire alarms.
- Clean Driving Record
- Computer experience is a must
- Must be able to lift 50 – 100 lbs.
- Work on ladders up to 30 feet
- Ability to work in office settings, tight spaces, elevated work levels such as cat-walks or platforms
