Finance Intern – Corporate FP&A
Location: Wood Dale, IL
Program Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026
Join AAR’s Corporate Finance team at our global headquarters in Wood Dale for an immersive 10-week summer internship. As a Finance Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across the organization while working closely with experienced finance professionals.
What you'll be responsible for:
- Spend 10 weeks gaining hands-on experience in Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close activities, including preparation of reports, dashboards, and management presentations.
- Support the development and analysis of financial models to evaluate business performance, trends, and strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business drivers, support decision-making, and improve financial processes.
- Develop professional skills through mentorship, learning sessions, and exposure to financial systems, tools, and best practices used in a global aerospace and defense organization.
- Build a strong foundation for a future career in Finance, FP&A, or Corporate Strategy at AAR or within the broader business community.
Performance Objectives:
- Learning & Development: Participate in structured learning sessions and mentorship opportunities with finance leaders and subject matter experts across the organization.
- Project Management: Take ownership of a meaningful FP&A-related project, working independently and collaboratively to analyze data, develop insights, and present recommendations to Finance and Business Leadership.
- Business Acumen: Develop a strong understanding of how a global organization operates by learning the financial drivers of the business, the role of FP&A, and the dynamics of the aerospace industry.
What you need to be successful in the role:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Pursuing a degree in Finance or a related field preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, data analysis, and use of formulas and functions.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate financial insights clearly.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $20/hr. This range reflects the base pay for candidates who meet the requirements of the role, including experience, education, and location.
