Certified Fleet Mechanic

Purpose of the Role:

The Certified Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and overall reliability of AAI's fleet of trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and support vehicles. This role serves as the primary resource for fleet maintenance, ensuring vehicles and equipment are safe, compliant, and available to support operations. The ideal candidate is highly disciplined, self-managed, organized, and capable of independently prioritizing repairs, preventative maintenance, and compliance requirements across the entire fleet.

• Demonstrates advanced mechanical knowledge of diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
• Accurately diagnoses and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain issues.
• Maintains current industry certifications and technical knowledge.
• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Takes ownership of fleet reliability and maintenance planning.
• Maintains an organized shop, documentation, and inventory system.
• Effectively prioritizes repairs based on operational needs, safety risks, and project demands.
• Balances preventative maintenance with urgent repair requests.
• Ensures equipment downtime is minimized.
• Develops and maintains preventative maintenance schedules.
• Proactively identifies potential failures before they cause operational disruptions.
• Tracks maintenance intervals, inspections, and service records.
• Maintains all equipment in compliance with DOT regulations, manufacturer recommendations, and company safety standards.
• Performs and documents required inspections.
• Ensures vehicles are safe and roadworthy before deployment.
• Communicates effectively with operations, project managers, drivers, and field personnel.
• Provides updates on equipment availability, repair timelines, and maintenance priorities.
• Recommends replacement or capital improvement opportunities when appropriate.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
