Inventory Associate

About the Role:

The Inventory Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of inventory management within the organization. This position is responsible for maintaining precise records of stock levels, conducting regular physical counts, and reconciling discrepancies to support seamless supply chain operations. The Inventory Associate collaborates closely with order entry, warehouse, and sales teams to monitor inventory flow and optimize stock availability. By implementing best practices in inventory control, this role helps minimize losses and supports timely fulfillment of customer orders. Ultimately, the Inventory Associate contributes to the overall operational success by maintaining organized, accurate, and up-to-date inventory data.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic experience with inventory management or warehouse operations.
• Familiarity with inventory tracking software or databases.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving inventory items.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree or certification in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
• Experience using advanced inventory management systems or ERP software, specifically Epicor Prophet 21 (P21).
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance in warehouse environments.
• Strong analytical skills to identify trends and discrepancies in inventory data.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

• Perform regular inventory counts and audits to verify stock accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Update and maintain inventory records in the company’s database or inventory management system.
• Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and handling of inventory items.
• Assist in receiving, inspecting, stocking, and documenting incoming shipments to confirm order accuracy.
• Utilize handheld barcode scanners (RF scanners) to accurately count, track, and record merchandise as it enters, moves, or exits the warehouse.
• Report inventory variances and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve issues promptly.
• Support inventory replenishment processes by monitoring stock levels and alerting procurement teams when reordering is necessary.
• Maintain a clean and organized inventory area to facilitate efficient operations and safety compliance.
• Generate inventory reports and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.
