Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash handling, credit card payments, and returns
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product information or demos
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring products are presented attractively
- Conduct product demos when applicable to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Manage inventory by participating in stock replenishment, inventory counts, and merchandising adjustments
- Uphold phone etiquette standards when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
- Support supervising staff during busy periods by providing guidance on cashier procedures and customer interactions
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred; familiarity with cashiering is a plus
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers effectively in bilingual settings if applicable
- Proficiency in basic math for handling cash transactions accurately and performing retail math calculations
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures to ensure secure and efficient transactions
