Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Collision Center Painter to join our dynamic automotive repair team. Duties
- Prepare vehicle surfaces through sanding, masking, and surface preparation techniques to ensure optimal paint adhesion and finish quality
- Operate spray guns, including conventional and airless paint sprayers, to apply primer, base coats, and clear coats with precision and consistency
- Perform auto body refinishing tasks such as buffing, polishing, and detailing to achieve a smooth, glossy finish
- Conduct surface repairs using welding and mechanical knowledge to correct imperfections before painting
- Use hand tools and power tools like grinders and sanders for surface preparation and minor body repairs
- Maintain a clean work environment by properly handling paints, solvents, and respiratory protection equipment in compliance with safety standards
- Assist with auto restoration projects by applying automotive paints and coatings that meet manufacturer specifications
- Collaborate with team members on vehicle inspections, estimating repairs, and ensuring timely completion of projects
- Support auto glass replacement or repair as needed during the refinishing process
- Follow all safety protocols related to respiratory protection, handling hazardous materials, and heavy lifting to ensure a safe workplace
Experience
- Proven experience as an automotive painter or collision center painter with dealership or auto body shop background required
- Strong knowledge of automotive surface preparation, painting techniques, and coating application methods
- Hands-on experience with welding, grinding, sanding, buffing, and auto restoration processes
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and customer service practices is a plus
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of vehicle maintenance procedures and auto body repair processes
- Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools, grinders, spray guns (including airless), and buffing equipment effectively
- Knowledge of automotive paints, primers, clear coats, and surface preparation masking techniques
- Commitment to safety standards including proper use of respiratory protection and handling hazardous materials responsibly
