· A Special Wish Foundation of Southwest Ohio is dedicated to granting the wishes of children and adolescents up to age 20 who have been diagnosed with a life‑threatening disorder. Our mission‑driven team works compassionately to bring joy, hope, and meaningful experiences to the children and families we serve.
Position Overview
· The Development and Events Director is responsible for creating, implementing, and managing all fundraising and event strategies to ensure the continued growth and sustainability of our chapter. This individual will lead development initiatives, coordinate signature events, cultivate donor relationships, and work closely with volunteers and community partners. The position reports directly to the President and serves as a key member of the team.
Key Responsibilities
· Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, including major gifts, corporate sponsorships, annual giving campaigns, grants, and special events.
· Lead the planning, execution, and evaluation of all fundraising events to maximize revenue and donor engagement.
· Cultivate, steward, and expand relationships with donors, sponsors, and community partners.
· Recruit, train, and inspire volunteers to assist with development and event efforts.
· Collaborate with the President, staff, and board members to align fundraising goals with the organization’s mission and strategic plan.
· Track, evaluate, and report on fundraising performance, including donor data and event outcomes.
· Represent the organization in the community, building awareness and goodwill through a friendly, professional presence.
Qualifications
· Minimum 5 years of professional fundraising experience, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals.
· Strong background in planning and executing successful events.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Self‑starter who is proactive, creative, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Ability to lead and inspire volunteers and build effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
· Passionate, compassionate, and mission‑driven mindset.
· Familiarity with donor management systems and fundraising best practices preferred.
