Kinship Navigator- Family Services & Transportation (FST) Worker

Job Purpose
The Kinship Navigator Family Services and Transportation Worker is responsible for ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient transportation of children served by A Second Chance, Inc. These services support the Kinship Navigator and Intake teams by providing transportation for children entering care or placed in respite.
Responsibilities include coordinating and providing transportation, supervising visits, and supporting permanency and well‑being activities such as medical appointments, therapy sessions, visitations with birth parents and siblings, court appearances, and school-related needs. The goal is to ensure that children are safe, thriving, and progressing toward permanency.
EDUCATION
A High School Diploma or equivalent required

An Associates or Bachelor’s degree in social work or other human service discipline with 5 to 10 years of child welfare experience preferred
EXPERIENCE
Must have at least two years of direct experience with children’s families in either a job related or volunteer capacity.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; must demonstrate leadership skills and qualities; must possess the knowledge of foster care services and client/family needs; must possess excellent clinical skills. Must possess a passion for kinship care and ability to work collaboratively with ACCYF.
STATUS
Full-time, regular; non-exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES
Engage with children and families to build trusting relationships while transporting children to medical appointments, family visitations, school, court, therapy, and placement locations.
Coordinate transportation to meet the needs of the child, the family, and ASCI.
Provide supervision and guidance to children while in your physical custody.
Provide oversight and guidance to families during designated supervised visits.
Plan and supervise activities during visitation.
Conduct safety checks of the child and environment.
Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution when immediate attention is required.
Assist in preparing case records by reporting and documenting events during transportation and visitation.
Deliver and pick up documents as required.
Assist programs with tasks such as substitute caregiver visits and placement visits, as needed.
Perform all other duties as assigned based on organizational need.
Schedule Requirements
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License
- Registered and insured vehicle
- Certificate of Insurance for vehicle
- Valid PA Inspection (even if vehicle is registered in another state)
- Valid/Clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Current Act 33, Police Clearance and FBI Clearance
- City/County travel
- Carry agency call phone
- On Call
- Ability to travel within the city/county
