Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, grooming, and dressing.
- Assist with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including assisting clients with mobility and transfers.
- Observe and report changes in clients’ physical or emotional conditions to family members or healthcare professionals.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all living spaces are tidy and organized.
- Support clients with medication reminders and adherence as instructed by healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with family members and other caregivers to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
Requirements
- Previous experience in long-term care or as a caregiver is preferred.
- Knowledge of memory care techniques is advantageous.
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in client conditions.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for client mobility assistance.
- A background in nursing, social work, or related fields is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Must be reliable, compassionate, and possess a strong sense of responsibility towards client care.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is desirable but not mandatory.
