Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms.
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure consistency between bank statements and internal records.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions efficiently while verifying their accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries, manage double entry bookkeeping, and ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting to support accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and government reporting requirements as needed.
- Support budgeting activities and provide detailed account analysis for management review.
- Write clear financial reports, including statements of financial position and income statements, for internal use or external audits.
Requirements
- Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, including GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Familiarity with technical accounting concepts like journal entries, account analysis, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Ability to perform bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, and tax compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; proficiency in 10 key typing is preferred.
- Capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
