Position Summary
The Practice Coordinator provides high-level administrative and front office support for the Orthopaedic Surgery Spine Center. This role is responsible for patient check-in, surgery scheduling, prior authorizations, provider support, and coordinating daily clinic operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong healthcare administrative experience, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients while providing exceptional customer service.
- Schedule surgeries, appointments, and coordinate provider calendars.
- Submit and follow up on prior authorizations and insurance-related requests.
- Provide administrative support to physicians and clinical staff.
- Answer and manage incoming calls, patient inquiries, and scheduling requests.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within APeX/Epic systems.
- Coordinate communication between patients, providers, and internal departments.
- Ensure smooth daily clinic workflow and support front desk operations.
- Assist with general office and clerical duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of healthcare administrative, medical office, or front desk experience.
- Prior experience with:
- Patient check-in/check-out
- Prior authorizations
- Surgery scheduling
- Provider administrative support
- Experience using APeX/Epic systems required.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Orthopaedic or surgical clinic experience preferred.
