A.P. Croll & Son Inc. is a fourth-generation family-owned construction company that has a legacy of quality, reliability, and innovation. We are seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager with heavy civil construction experience to lead multiple civil construction projects from start‑up through closeout. This role requires strong coordination skills, a deep understanding of civil site work, and the ability to manage schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and government agencies simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple active projects, subcontractors, and government agencies to ensure timely and compliant job production
- Monitor and report job production and detailed schedule progress, supported by strong knowledge of civil site work and sequencing.
- Lead subcontractor coordination, owner/agency communications, and internal project team alignment to drive safe and timely production
- Monitor contract documents to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local government requirements
- Support the sales team by developing estimates, change orders, and scope revisions as needed.
- Coordinate project start‑up and close‑out activities
- Manage and support field personnel during project closeout to ensure completion and contract compliance
- Develop and submit monthly billings
- Track job cost variances and communicate updates to staff in a timely manner
- Perform site visits and field work as required to support production, progress verification, and issue resolution
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction project management and/or estimating
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of civil site work, scheduling, budgeting, and production tracking
- Experience working with government agencies and public sector contracts preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to document work, progress, and impacts clearly
Education
- Degree preferred but not required
- Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus
- Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary Range: $90,000 – $125,000 (negotiable based on experience and skill set)
- Schedule: Full‑time, 40 hours per week
