Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape installation, including planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, ensuring proper placement and health.
- Perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming, and fertilizing to keep lawns healthy and visually appealing.
- Maintain landscape features by pruning trees and shrubs, performing tree trimming, and caring for plants to promote growth and safety.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment such as excavators for digging, grading, or installing hardscape elements like patios or walkways.
- Conduct irrigation system installation and maintenance to ensure efficient watering of landscapes.
- Support snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible.
- Assist with general construction tasks related to landscape projects including hardscape installation and site preparation.
- Maintain cleanliness of work sites by removing debris, weeds, and ensuring tools are properly stored after use.
Qualifications
- Prior experience or interest in landscaping, gardening, or outdoor maintenance is preferred but not required; training will be provided.
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment such as excavators is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy materials, digging, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Knowledge of lawn care practices including mowing, fertilizing, aerating, and pest control is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of horticulture principles or tree care techniques is beneficial.
- Strong work ethic with attention to safety procedures when operating machinery or handling tools.
- Valid driver’s license preferred for operating equipment or traveling between job sites; willingness to learn new skills related to irrigation systems or snow plowing is appreciated.
