What are the responsibilities and job description for the Therapist/Counselor, Mental Health, Clinician position at A New Dawn, A New Beginning?
We’re seeking a dedicated and passionate clinician to join our outpatient mental health practice. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals, couples, and families, will be trained in a variety of evidence-based modalities to treat an array of mental health diagnoses, and be eager to continue to grow their clinical skills within a group practice setting.
Our office is a private practice based in Perry, Florida. We provide individualized outpatient therapy for adults, couples, adolescents, children, and families, as well as medication management services. We serve a diverse client base that faces a variety of mental health challenges. We are a well-established practice (more than 10 years strong!) with an extensive waiting list, so your caseload will grow quickly.
Therapists with our practice typically see 6-10 clients per day. We recognize the need for flexibility and offer morning, early afternoon, and late afternoon appointments. We offer both face-to-face and telehealth appointments.
This position is a W2 position with the possibility of benefits depending on the number of hours worked. There is an opportunity for hybrid work, but at least two days out of the week must be spent seeing clients in the Perry office. For registered interns, all sessions must be completed in the office with a licensed provider on-site.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
- Provide long-term individual therapy to a wide range of clients with a variety of mental health concerns.
- Maintain an active caseload.
- Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to evaluate clients' needs.
- Provide diagnoses based on The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR).
- Develop individualized treatment plans and utilize evidence-based strategies to treat clients' mental health needs.
- Provide documentation (in the form of written reports, letters, case reviews, and monthly updates) to outside sources, and coordinate care with external resources and providers.
- Conduct clinical assessments to monitor client progress and update treatment plans accordingly.
- Report to the practice owner and program directors, who are available for clinical debriefing, operational assistance, and crisis management support.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision support to address any clinical or ethical issues that may arise.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in providing individual counseling/psychotherapy.
- Active license to practice therapy in Florida. Those who are fully licensed, registered interns, or individuals seeking registered intern license status are welcome to apply.
- Strong diagnostic and case conceptualization skills with knowledge of mental health disorders as recognized by The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, Text Revision (DSM-5-TR).
- High capacity for self-awareness, self-reflection, and willingness to engage in feedback processes through individual and group supervision within the practice.
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner, as our practice is a high-paced environment.
