Responsibilities

- Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, behavior management, and classroom organization, to ensure a smooth and engaging learning experience.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through clear communication and collaborative efforts.
- Conduct assessments and utilize standardized testing to monitor each child's progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet individual developmental needs.
- Support children with special education needs and participate in early intervention programs to promote inclusive learning.
- Incorporate child welfare practices, ensuring safety, health, and emotional support for all students.
- Lead activities that promote physical development, social skills, and emotional regulation, including tutoring and teaching physical education.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral notes, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
- Stay current with best practices in childhood development, classroom management, and early childhood education through ongoing professional development.
- Engage in parent-teacher conferences, providing updates on student progress and strategies for continued growth at home.
- Collaborate with team members to plan special events, themed activities, and classroom projects that enhance learning experiences.
Qualifications
- EDU 119 or education related to the early childhood field (required)
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings, including preschool and daycare environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, behavior management, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy and math education.
- Familiarity with special education, early intervention, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Knowledge of Montessori methods and experience with standardized testing and assessment tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, and team members.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom, foster positive behavior, and create an engaging learning environment.
- Prior experience in private schools or daycare centers is preferred.
- Certifications in early childhood education, child welfare, and first aid are highly desirable.
