Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards, incorporating literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where appropriate.
• Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and independence among toddlers and preschool-aged children.
• Manage daily classroom activities, including lesson planning, behavior management, and classroom organization, to ensure a smooth and engaging learning experience.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through clear communication and collaborative efforts.
• Conduct assessments and utilize standardized testing to monitor each child's progress, adjusting teaching strategies to meet individual developmental needs.
• Support children with special education needs and participate in early intervention programs to promote inclusive learning.
• Incorporate child welfare practices, ensuring safety, health, and emotional support for all students.
• Lead activities that promote physical development, social skills, and emotional regulation, including tutoring and teaching physical education.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral notes, ensuring compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
• Stay current with best practices in childhood development, classroom management, and early childhood education through ongoing professional development.
• Engage in parent-teacher conferences, providing updates on student progress and strategies for continued growth at home.
• Collaborate with team members to plan special events, themed activities, and classroom projects that enhance learning experiences.

Qualifications

• EDU 119 or education related to the early childhood field (required)
• Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings, including preschool and daycare environments.
• Strong knowledge of childhood development, behavior management, and classroom management techniques.
• Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing literacy and math education.
• Familiarity with special education, early intervention, and inclusive teaching practices.
• Knowledge of Montessori methods and experience with standardized testing and assessment tools.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with children, parents, and team members.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom, foster positive behavior, and create an engaging learning environment.
• Prior experience in private schools or daycare centers is preferred.
• Certifications in early childhood education, child welfare, and first aid are highly desirable.
