Full-Time Nanny & Homeschool Assistant – Crownsville, MD

Schedule:

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  
• Wednesday: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
  
• School year schedule (10 months, starting in August) plus 1 month in July
  

Compensation:

• $20 per hour
  
• Paid vacation: 1 week
  
• Paid holidays provided
  
• Guaranteed pay on days care is not needed
  
• Mileage reimbursement if using own vehicle for transport
  

Children:

• Ronald – 14 years old, 9th grade, enjoys sports and music
  
• Richmond – 11 years old, 5th grade, homeschooled, enjoys sports and music, has a vision impairment, asthma, and may require occasional nebulizer use or medication
  

Position Overview:
A warm, organized, and experienced nanny is needed to care for two active boys while also assisting with homeschooling for the younger child. The ideal candidate will have homeschool experience, patience, and grace, and be comfortable working collaboratively with the family’s current homeschool teacher. This is a long-term role where the nanny will become like family, supporting the boys’ growth both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and engage children in daily activities, maintaining screen time limits set by parents
  
• Support homeschool learning for the 11-year-old, including Christian-based lessons and Bible assignments
  
• Transport children as needed to activities or school programs
  
• Prepare and cook healthy meals/snacks for children
  
• Assist with light household duties related to children:
  
• Laundry (children only)
  
• General tidying and organizing
  
• Loading/unloading dishwasher
  
• Cleaning kitchen after meals
  
• Vacuuming and sweeping common areas
  
• Follow the family’s parenting philosophy, including gentle parenting and respectful communication
  
• Ensure children’s safety and well-being at all times
  

Requirements

Requirements:

• Previous nanny and homeschool experience preferred (seasoned caregivers, such as “auntie” or “grandma” types, encouraged to apply)
  
• Must have own reliable transportation
  
• Ability to work collaboratively with parents and homeschool teacher
  
• Comfortable administering asthma treatments (training can be provided)
  
• Kind, nurturing, and trustworthy personality
  
• English-speaking
  
• Must be alert and attentive, never leaving children alone with other adults
