Spec 1, In-House Service

Job Summary
The Spec 1, In-House Service role is responsible for executing field action remediation activities, including remote deployment of software and firmware, device configuration in RSS, and other remote remediation tasks. This role requires experience working directly with customers, maintaining accurate service documentation, and collaborating closely with advanced support specialists.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic systems and will thrive in a regulated, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute remote remediation activities, including software and firmware deployment
- Configure devices in RSS and perform other assigned remote service actions
- Build effective working relationships across functions and locations
- Maintain a strong focus on high-quality work and attention to detail
- Adapt to diverse environments while managing multiple tasks and priorities independently
- Communicate effectively with customers, building rapport and addressing needs proactively
- Maintain accurate records, service tickets, reporting tools, and metric tracking systems
- Follow procedures and processes in an FDA-regulated environment
- Develop, update, and maintain process documentation
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
- Assist with developing processes, drafting knowledge articles, and job aids
- Support training and mentoring of peers as needed
- Seek opportunities to expand skills and contribute to organizational initiatives
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma (minimum)
- Degree or background in Computer Science, Technology, Healthcare, or equivalent work experience preferred
- 2–3 years of proven applied experience (3–5 years preferred)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Goal- and action-oriented mindset
- English proficiency (read, write, speak)
- Experience with:
- Application/software packaging and deployment
- Desktop and system support services
- Windows operating systems and versions
- Active Directory and domain security
- Remote access tools (Bomgar)
- Cloud computing concepts
- SQL and basic SQL scripting
- Windows, Unix/Linux environments
Work Environment
