Job Description (W2 Contract)
We are seeking an experienced Rhapsody Integration Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of healthcare interfaces and data integrations. This role requires strong hands-on experience with the latest Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x) and the ability to develop custom solutions that ensure secure, reliable data exchange across healthcare systems.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in message transformation, custom development using Rhapsody tools, and working with modern and legacy healthcare data formats.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support interfaces using Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x)
- Build custom filters, mappers, and components using the Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK)
- Perform custom message payload translations between formats such as HL7, XML, JSON, and proprietary/legacy formats
- Integrate systems using web services and communication protocols, including:
- SOAP, REST, OAUTH
- TCP connections, LLP
- Implement and support secure data transport, including:
- TLS encryption
- Mutual authentication using digital certificates
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and support production integrations
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to meet integration requirements
- Ensure compliance with healthcare data standards and security best practices
Required Skills & Experience
- Several years of hands-on experience with:
- Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (version 7.x)
- Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK)
- Strong experience with healthcare data formats and transformations (HL7, XML, JSON)
- Proven experience working with web services and APIs (SOAP, REST)
- Solid understanding of transport protocols and security standards
- Experience implementing encryption and certificate-based authentication
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Rhapsody Certification (preferred)
- Healthcare integration or HIE experience
- Familiarity with legacy system integrations
