This is a contract-to-hire position within an adult correctional hospital setting. Candidates must be comfortable working in an environment that includes direct exposure to incarcerated individuals. Although administrative in nature, this role works closely around inmates and requires professional conduct at all times.Important:Facility is an adult prison system hospitalInteraction with incarcerated individuals is expectedScrubs must be worn at all times while on dutyPosition OverviewThis role functions primarily within the storeroom as a medical inventory clerk, while also supporting administrative health information tasks as needed. The position may shift between inventory-focused and office-support responsibilities depending on operational needs.The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills and prior experience managing inventory, tracking data, and maintaining organized records.Key ResponsibilitiesInventory & Storeroom Duties:Order supplies and maintain inventory levelsPerform cycle counts and rotate stock using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) practicesUnpack and verify incoming shipments; report discrepanciesRemove, document, and package expired itemsRetrieve requisitions from electronic materials management systems and fulfill ordersTrack inbound and outbound supplies to prevent overstock or shortagesMaintain accurate inventory records and PAR level documentationCoordinate purchase orders, stock transfers, deliveries, and returnsGenerate inventory, purchasing, and supply chain reports using ExcelNotify Purchasing Agent when stock levels are lowEnsure proper equipment (wheelchairs, crutches, braces, etc.) is available for patient careAdministrative Support Duties:Perform routine administrative tasks supporting physicians, nurses, and health practitionersAnswer phones and take verbal ordersMaintain organized records and documentationRespond to supplier and internal customer inquiriesSupport units that may be short-staffedQualificationsMust hold active CPR certificationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredExperience working with inventory or materials management preferredStrong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (tracking, reporting, data entry)Comfortable working in a correctional healthcare settingIf you are qualified and interested, please apply today.
