Duties
- Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks to transport goods to designated locations
- Load and unload materials manually or using mechanical knowledge to ensure secure and balanced cargo
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Drive with professionalism, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies during deliveries
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment or manual effort to handle bulky or heavy loads
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and load/unload records for accountability
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with relevant endorsements for operating heavy trucks and specialized equipment
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially with delivery routes involving manual transmission vehicles
- Mechanical knowledge of trucks
- Demonstrated ability to load & unload cargo safely using manual effort or mechanical aids
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy lifting, vehicle operation, and cargo securement
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Physical capability for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged periods of driving or standing
