General Purpose
The Instructional Assistant for Data Reporting’s principal role is to assist the Adult Education teachers with the recruiting, registration, tracking, and verification of student data, registration requirements, and certifications to support a successful ABE program. The Instructional Assistant for Data Reporting shall also assist in the preparation of instruction primarily to individuals and small groups of students. IA’s assist with school-wide procedures including supervision of school activities and other duties as assigned by the principal.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Maintain student registration folders
- Enroll new students into state database system
- Communicate with adult education staff concerning state data reporting
- Record, process and distribute HSE diplomas to students
- Field inquires and phone calls for adult education
- Manage adult education office
- Maintain student and staff confidentiality
- Assist in planning and executing adult education public events, including recruitment fairs and graduation
- Maintain adult education website
- Comply with standard rules, regulations, and procedures assigned by Adult Education Director
- Be part of the total support team for students and staff
- Be professional when dealing with students, staff, and parents
- Support the teacher and related staff, who provide service for the student
- Aid in the development and maintenance of a positive work environment
- Communicate concerns to administrator in a timely and professional manner
- Be on time and maintain good attendance
- Attend in-services and training as required (9 hours required for 10 hours of work or more per grant)
- Request director support when necessary or when more explanation is needed
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE)
- Must meet current state requirements (ParaPro Exam or a minimum of 60 college credit hours)
- Previous experience working with students. Desire to make a positive difference and be a positive influence in students’ lives. Understanding and experience in an educational setting. A positive employment history and recommendations from a previous supervisor
- Computer skills necessary
Work Schedule
Part-time Monday through Thursday, as assigned by the Adult Education Director through June 30, 2027, through the end of the 2026-2027 grant period
Salary and Benefits
Payment Type: $19.50 per hour per grant cycle, no benefits
