Position Summary
A&J Plumbing Co. is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Plumbing Estimator & Project Coordinator to join our growing team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for residential and commercial plumbing projects while coordinating each job from proposal through completion.
The ideal candidate has experience in plumbing, construction estimating, and project coordination, communicates professionally with customers, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Estimating
- Review project plans, scopes, and customer requests.
- Perform site visits as needed to gather project information.
- Prepare accurate estimates and proposals for plumbing projects.
- Calculate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Follow up on outstanding estimates and maintain proposal records.
- Communicate and obtain pricing from suppliers.
Project Coordination
- Schedule approved jobs with customers and field crews.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, permits, and inspections.
- Communicate project timelines and updates with customers.
- Monitor project progress and assist in resolving scheduling or material issues.
- Process change orders and update project documentation.
- Ensure completed jobs are properly documented and closed out.
- Prepare submittal packages as requested.
- Must have experience in redlining and providing as-builts as needed
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate job files and project records.
- Order materials and coordinate vendor deliveries.
- Track project costs and assist with budget monitoring.
- Support invoicing by ensuring work orders and documentation are complete.
- Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth daily operations.
Qualifications
- Plumbing or construction industry experience required.
- Proven plumbing estimating experience for more than 5 years.
- Experience with plumbing estimating software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- The ability to read construction blueprints is a requirement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Valid California driver's license.
