Recruitment Specialist for Faith Based Media Content

Our programs fall under our two key strategic areas of focus

• Acting to help those in need with a particular emphasis on immigrant populations.
• Showing how unjust systems marginalize people and encouraging our followers to put their faiths into action to address injustice.
  

Our programs include

• Fireside Chats We explore issues of current social justice interest.
• The Weekly Word A weekly email that gives voice to different faith leaders across the country who discuss social justice issues from a faith perspective that reaches more than 4,000 people.
• English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program We provide free virtual and in-person instruction for English language learners in greater Boston in collaboration with Jewish Vocational Service (JVS), which has established the standard in Boston for these learning experiences. From 2018 through the end of 2025, we enrolled more than 1,000 students in our program.
• Grab & Go meal program A Food Assistance program for people experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in Boston.
• Newsletter Includes social justice and event news highlights and a spiritual reflection by qualified theologians circulated weekly by email to more than 4,000 followers.
• Continual learning opportunities Virtual connection to our subscribers, including “live” and pre-recorded videos on social media.

Key Responsibilities

As a Volunteer Recruitment Specialist for Faith-Based Content Contributors, you will play a crucial role in shaping the content of our communications with our followers and on our website. We currently publish a weekly digital piece called The Weekly Word which features faith leaders’ perspectives on social justice issues, a blog which features stories from our followers about how they put their faith into action, and a weekly spiritual reflection from a faith leader. Our intent is to create space for people of faith to examine social justice issues from a faith-based perspective, and to give voice to faith leaders and individuals who put their faith into action. Your responsibilities will include

• Talent Scouting
• Identify and engage with writers, bloggers, spiritual leaders, and content creators who can contribute thought-provoking faith-based articles. See https //faith-justice.org/voices-and-perspectives/ for past articles.
• Community Building Cultivate relationships with faith-based communities, organizations, and individuals to expand our network of contributors.
• Collaboration Collaborate closely with our editorial team to ensure that content aligns with our platform's mission and values.
• Support and Guidance Provide guidance and support to prospective contributors, helping them create impactful content.
• Promotion Assist in promoting and sharing published articles to maximize their reach and impact.
  
  

Qualifications

• Passion for faith, spirituality, and the power of storytelling.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiasm for volunteer work and community engagement.
• Experience in content recruitment or talent scouting is a plus, but not required.
• A commitment to fostering inclusivity and respect for diverse faith perspectives.
